TextRange

The textRange object is used to encapsulate a block of text within your web page. The textRange area itself is created through the use of the createTextRange() method. Do not confuse this object with the functionality of the Html TEXTAREA tag. Once the textRange has been created, use the properties and methods of the textRange object to change or set the contents of the textRange area. The htmlText and text properties are used to change the contetns of the textRange. Html characters specified with the HtmlText property will be rendered by the browser.
